Maria always starts with the end result in mind, then she develops a plan to achieve the ideal end result. Maria’s approach is much like a project manager, in that she takes her client's request and develops a plan, action items, and milestones, to provide the desired deliverable on time. She takes a collaborative approach to her projects, which requires meetings with her clients to ensure they get their desired results. Maria’s number one goal is to have quality deliverables, on time, and exactly what she promised her clients.

The Spark
Maria has always wanted to help people that are often looked over in our society have their voices heard. She chose Advertising at the University of Texas in hopes that she could be the voice for the brands/people whose values align with hers, in order to make an impact together. Words, imagery, and community are powerful tools in our society, and their power does not always fall into the right hands. Maria wants to make a difference and spread positive messages that are truly about improving the lives of everyone; connecting and uplifting people is what keeps Maria going.
The Vibe
Every day Maria strives to make the most of her day by doing what she enjoys. For every bit of hurt in the world there is beauty, and Maria wants to honor all of it. She enjoys spending her time reading, with important people in her life, and out in nature. Maria has had an intense love for art and learning new things for as long as she can remember. When she has the time to, Maria loves to spend time digitally painting while listening to music. She also loves to take up new hobbies to satiate her appetite for learning. Maria is currently studying Korean, learning how to sew and crochet, and growing her herb garden! Maria strives to make the most of the life she has through travelling, learning, art, and community.

The Journey
Maria moved to Austin, Texas from Colorado Springs, Colorado with her family when she was 14 years old. Initially, she had planned to move back to Colorado for college as soon as she graduated because that was the future she had always envisioned before. It wasn't until Maria was approaching her senior year that the vision of her future changed. She had started to learn more about the amazing things this city has to offer, one being a quality education at the University of Texas in Austin. Maria had made it her goal to go to school there once she figured out what direction she wanted to take in studies.
After graduating, Maria began to study communications to get some hours under her belt at Austin Community College, and eventually worked her way up to transferring to UT Austin. Once she transferred, Maria knew she wanted to stay in communications, but she also knew she wanted to be in a field that allowed her to utilize her love for art and creativity. The first week of an advertising class she took by chance presented to her exactly what she was looking for. Maria officially changed her major to advertising and a whole new world opened up to her. She could use her creativity and her passion for communication to change people's lives. Maria knew that this was not only the career path that she wanted to stick to, but a skill that she could keep cultivating for life to make change in the world that she wants to see.
