March challenge: I challenge you to evaluate your current reality.
Take the time to write down these four areas of your life, and then consider which area(s) you could benefit from identifying or developing one or two goals to feel more balanced.
โYour life โ relationships/family, finances, and your health
โYour career โ not just what you do, but how you develop yourself within your profession to find value and meaning in the area where you earn a living
โYour personal joy โ what you do for fun
โYour personal impact โ how you serve others; including volunteering or contributing to your community
Stretch of the month: Bow Pose - this pose is energizing and stimulates the adrenal glands, which can help you fight fatigue. It also increases blood flow to your digestive system. It may help to build confidence and empowerment. Bow Pose also improves posture and counteracts the effects of sitting for extended periods of time, such as slouching and kyphosis (abnormal curvature of the spine). It may help relieve back pain. It stretches your abdomen, chest, shoulders, front of your hips (hip flexors), and the front of your thighs (quadriceps). Bow Pose strengthens your back muscles, the back of your thighs, and buttocks (glutes). Click the (external) link to learn more, or simply google "bow pose"!
Wellness tip of the month: "A day without laughter is a day wasted." -Charlie Chaplin
Make time to laugh! They say, "laughter is the best medicine", and there is plenty of truth to this statement. Medical studies have shown that laughter lowers the level of cortisol (stress hormone) in your body, thereby reducing your stress. Laughter also lowers blood pressure, increases the immune system, and increases your heart rate. It lightens your mood and makes you happier. Laughter is also proven to help you sleep. It takes energy to laugh, burning calories and energy. Laugh by yourself as often as you can, and laugh with others even more often than that.
"When it comes to changing your life, if you're not scared, you're doing it wrong." -unknown
