May Article: This month's article is: Acquisition 101. There are several reasons you may be considering a business acquisition; you prefer to acquire an existing business as opposed to starting your own, you wish to increase your market share, you’d like to tap an unassociated market, or even if you’d like to expand your business offerings. Regardless of your reasoning, the initial scope is the same; due diligence, due diligence, due diligence. If you have any questions surrounding this month's article, or would like to further explore opportunities, please feel free to reach out to schedule a session with us! You can reply directly here if we have worked together in the past. May Challenge: I challenge you to practice having open ears, and an open mind.
If you are interested in more content on these topics, we recommend reading our The Value of Old School article.

→Network, interact, engage: Determine one new networking event / opportunity for your business. This can be a conference, tradeshow, lecture, festival, etc. The important part is that it provides access to a new audience; whether potential clients, partnerships, collaborations, etc.
→Model continuous learning: Explore opportunities for continuous learning that will enrich your business. This can be a certification, a book, a course, a group, a video, etc. So long as it provides you with relevant new information to enrich and inspire your business, you’re on track.
→Always ask for feedback: Tap your nearest and dearest professional connections for feedback on your role and business. The most important thing here is to simply have a conversation with professionals outside of your immediate work environment for perspective you wouldn’t otherwise have access to.

Stretch of the month: Revolved Triangle pose - this stretch strengthens and stretches the legs, opens the chest to improve breathing, relieves mild back pain, and improves your sense of balance. Click the (external) link to learn more, or simply google "revolved triangle pose"!

Wellness tip of the month: Set yourself up for success with your daily goals by providing yourself with a variety of options. When you are creating your daily scope of work, it is important to provide yourself with a variety of styles of goals. This variety could range from time requirements, to bandwidth requirements, to creative vs. data driven, to the setting of the work needed to execute the goal, and so on. When we are faced with a structured amount of time to execute a defined list of goals, it can get very overwhelming if every goal on the list is the same style; all major projects, all small tasks that require a lot of transitions, all goals that require third parties to be able to get completed, all data intensive, etc. By providing yourself with a variety of each relevant variable, you will set yourself up for success, as you will have the flexibility required in the reality of your time constraints. For instance, let's say you have just wrapped up one of your high level goals, and you only have 30 minutes before lunch-  if you don't have a handful of small tasks that require a lot of transition, you will likely feel stuck. It wouldn't be efficient to start another high level goal with only 30 minutes, as you would lose your momentum just as you got going. So, without smaller tasks available to fill those small blocks of time, you will likely become frustrated, or worse, decide to start another high level goal and work through lunch to maintain your ideal productivity. Building a list of goals is a wonderful practice, but can easily become detrimental when not constructed with a realistic view of your day, constraints, and capabilities. Be mindful to account for these variables.
