As we are approaching the end of the year, we are offering a bonus challenge this month!!
November Challenge #1: Practice Gratitude
→To start, determine a method to express your gratitude daily. If you’d like to tackle this challenge as an individual, you can implement a gratitude journal, whiteboard, chalk board, or some kind of artistic adaptation. If you’re interested in approaching this challenge as a group or community, you can create a social media movement (FB page, media campaign, etc.), partner with local businesses for a 30 day gratitude challenge, or create a meet-up group that actively spreads gratitude to others.
→Once you determine your method, from there it is just a matter of engaging with your platform daily to acknowledge and celebrate one thing you’re grateful for each day. Make the experience your own. You can extend this challenge as long as you find happiness in the experience. When your challenge has ended, you can retain all of your gratitude moments to look back on during hard times, or moments of reflection. “When I started my journey of gratitude, I used a chalkboard to write down at least one thing I was grateful for each day, and took a picture of what I’d written down. I often look back on those fondly.”.
November Challenge #2: Community Gratitude - I challenge you to establish one give-back event for this year.
→So long as your concept is assembled and completed by the end of this year, you’re on track. Take your time in considering what cause or organization you would like to give back to; choose something that is near and dear to your heart, and/or your brand.
→Events could include: volunteering, a community event, running a cross-promotion, or a non-profit fundraiser, to name a few.
Stretch of the month: Sage's Pose - this pose massages your abdominal organs, including your liver and kidneys. Additionally, this pose is a great way to relieve mild backaches and hip pain. Click the (external) link to learn more, or simply google "sage’s pose"!
Wellness tip of the month: Celebrate ALL wins, big or small. Too often we get caught up in disappointment around the productivity of our days. I know I am guilty of this. Picture it: you set up your day, get 15 minutes into your to-do list, and then immediately have to pivot for the next 3 hours. Then, you try to return to where you left off, but you can't find your rhythm again. So, you move onto another task. When you wrap up your day, you're left feeling unproductive, stressed out, even more behind than when you started your day. We've all been there. Yet, in reality, the day was quite productive. It simply did not look the way we wanted the productivity to look. In this scenario, you weren't lying in bed binge watching Netflix, or out on some lavish excursion. You were, in fact, being productive and executing the tasks that were required of you at that moment. Had you chosen to ignore the catalyst for the pivot, that would have been unproductive. But, you didn't. You adapted and adjusted and executed the task at hand. In those moments, challenge your perspective, and celebrate those wins...even if they weren't the wins you were after that day, they're still wins. Celebrate them.
